Regina Pats forward Jake Leschyshyn has already blown by his point totals from his entire rookie season last year. In 2015/16 as a 16-year-old, Leschyshyn scored seven goals and had 16 points in 66 games played.

A year later, the Saskatoon product has scored nine goals and has 21 points in just 15 games.

He is second on the team in scoring, has three powerplay goals, six powerplay assists, two shorthanded goals and two assists while on the penalty kill.

Leschyshyn is eligible for the 2017 NHL Entry Draft and was ranked a ‘B’ skater as a potential second or third round pick in the Central Scouting Services preliminary rankings in October.

He met with the media on Tuesday to talk about his early season success.
