The Regina Pats dropped a 4-3 pre-season decision at home to the Medicine Hat Tigers on Saturday night at the Brandt Centre.

The Pats got off to a fast start, scoring 56 seconds in thanks to Ty Kolle, his second of the pre-season, on a nice feed from Logan Nijhoff to make it 1-0. The Pats added to their lead on the powerplay a few minutes later, Dawson Holt set up Austin Pratt in the slot and he scored his second to make it 2-0. Four minutes later, Garrett Wright sprung Cole Dubinsky on a breakaway and he went backhand to make it 3-0 and that was the score after one. In the second, the Tigers scored twice, once early and once late to cut the Regina lead to 3-2 after 40 minutes. In the final frame, Medicine Hat got a goal from Tyler Preziuso in the opening five minutes to tie the game at three. Then, with just under four minutes left in regulation, Logan Christensen scored on the powerplay to complete the comeback for the Tigers, his first made it 4-3 and that was the final.

The Pats were outshot 30-29, the powerplay was one for five and the penalty kill two for three. Ty Kolle led the offence with a goal and an assist while Matthew Pesenti made 26 saves.
