PREVIEW: Pats Head to Winnipeg for Rematch with ICE

Regina, Sask. — The Regina Pats will look to make it two wins in a row to kick off the 2021 pre-season, as they travel to Winnipeg on Saturday to take on the ICE, following a 5-4 victory on Friday. Puck drop this evening is set for 6 p.m. off at The RINK Training Centre.

Regina got goals from five different players last night, including a shorthanded beauty in the second period from Connor Bedard and a wicked shot from Cole Dubinsky late in the third that stood up as the game-winner.

Also scoring for the regiment were Easton Armstrong, Tanner Howe and Zack Stringer, the latter of which was playing in his first game as a Pat after an off-season trade from the Lethbridge Hurricanes. Goaltender Matthew Kieper stood out big time on Friday, stopping all 20 shots he faced after entering the game midway through the second period. Spencer Welke stopped 16 of 20 on the night.

The ICE got two goals from Cole Muir, as well as tallies from Anson McMaster and Mike Ladyman.
