Pats Sign 2022 Third Round Pick Smith

Regina, Sask. — The Regina Pats Hockey Club are pleased to announce the signing of 2007-born defenceman Brayden Smith to a WHL Standard Player Agreement.
“Brayden showed us that he has good skill and a solid feel for the game,” Regina Pats GM and Head Coach John Paddock said. “The puck seems to follow him around, and we anticipate him being a good player in the league for us.”
Smith, 15, was drafted by the Pats in the third round, 53rd overall, in the 2022 WHL Prospects Draft. The Saskatoon product scored 19 goals and added 36 assists for a total of 55 points in 31 games with the Saskatoon Generals U15 AA team last year, leading all defencemen in the Saskatchewan AA Hockey League in points. The left-shot, 6-foot, 165 lb. defenceman is committed to play for the Saskatoon Blazers U18 AAA team next year, along with Pats 2022 second-round selection Corban Almen.
“I’m very excited to have the opportunity to join such a great organization,” Smith said.
