Pats Announce 2022-23 Opening Night Roster

Regina, Sask. – The Regina Pats Hockey Club is pleased to announce their 2022-23 opening night roster, ahead of the home opener which takes place at 7:00 p.m. tomorrow at the Brandt Centre.

The biggest name on this Pats opening night roster is potential #1 overall 2022 NHL pick Connor Bedard who is coming off a 51 goals and 100 points last season, becoming the youngest player in WHL history to 50+ goals and 100 points.

Outside of Bedard, the Pats will also be relying on a good amount of their young core, with the likes of Layton Feist, Borya Valis, Braxton Whitehead, Tye Spencer, Zane Rowan and Matthew Kieper expected to play big roles this season.

Three other players who produced for the Pats last season, and are expected to be top players this season will be Tanner Howe who totaled 27 goals and 42 assists for 69 points last season, as well as Cole Dubinsky and Stanislav Svozil, as both reached the 40+ point mark with the Pats last season.

This offseason, the Pats acquired two players, inking Washington Capitals third-round pick Alexander Suzdalev and acquiring goaltender Koen MacInnes from the Everett Silvertips. MacInnes posted a .909 save percentage last year and Suzdalev had an impressive season with HV71 (Sweden-Jr.), where he led his club in scoring with 51 points (15G-36A) in 45 games and ranked 10th in Sweden’s top junior league in points.
