Pats and Brandt Pair Up with Local Sponsors for a $50,000 STARS Donation

Regina, Saskatchewan — The Regina Pats Hockey Club, in partnership with Brandt, hosted their second We Care Weekday game on Wednesday night.

At every weekday game this season, the team is bringing together local supporters and community organizations to show how much they care. With Brandt’s generous support, funds committed by participating sponsors are doubled through their Thanks A Billion program.

Tonight, game night sponsor Conexus Credit Union — a long-time supporter of STARS — brought together Ritchie Brothers Auctioneers and GFL Environmental to commit $10,000 and $15,000 respectively. After the $25,000 Brandt match, STARS went home with $50,000 in support of their operations fundraising and the Pegasus project fundraising for the capital campaign to purchase new lifesaving helicopters for Saskatchewan.

“Our supporters ride along with us on every mission as they support our annual operations and help us build the next STARS fleet,” said Terri Strunk, STARS Chief Fundraising and Brand Officer. “Thanks to these generous allies, for ensuring we can be there for the next patient that needs us and for investing in our ability to serve the people of Saskatchewan for decades to come.”

“The We Care Weekday games are all about bringing the community together, and tonight we did just that. With all of these sponsors giving generously to STARS and Brandt’s match – we’re collectively giving back to the people of Saskatchewan in a big way,” said Pats COO Trevor Buhnai.

STARS Air Ambulance was also on-site to engage Pats fans with their Pegasus Project, an initiative honouring the tragic 2018 Humboldt bus crash. Pegasus merchandise and former Humboldt Bronco, Kaleb Dahlgren’s book, Crossroads were available, with proceeds benefiting STARS lifesaving work.

“Brandt is ready to match $220,000 in funds for We Care Weekday games this season. We’re already at $45,000 and have supported two incredible organizations. We look forward to teaming up with more sponsors to make a big difference for even more community organizations,” adds Brandt CEO Shaun Semple.
