Knyzhov and Zablocki Sign Player Agreements

Regina, Saskatchewan – The Regina Pats Hockey Club is pleased to announce import defenceman Nikolai Knyzhov (’98) and forward Lane Zablocki (’98) have signed WHL Standard Player Agreements.

Nikolai Knyzhov was the Pats’ 41st overall selection in the 2015 CHL Import Draft.  Hailing from St. Petersburg, RUS, Knyzhov played his previous two seasons in North America.  The 6’1”, 180 lbs defender posted four points (1G, 3A) in 24 games with the Phoenix Jr. Coyotes (U16) in 2014-15.

Lane Zablocki was acquired from the Prince George Cougars earlier this month.  The native of Wetaskiwin, AB was the Cougars’ fifth round pick, 109th overall, in the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft.  As a 16-year old, Zablocki posted 25 points (15G, 10A) in 55 games with the AJHL’s Sherwood Park Crusaders.

Both players will be on the ice this weekend as the Pats open their 2015 Training Camp.  On-ice sessions begin Saturday morning at the Co-operators Arena.  Camp concludes Monday with the Blue and White Game.  Puck drop for the annual intra-squad game is 7 p.m.  Admission is $2 or donation of a non-perishable food item.
