Baseball Comes To the Brandt Centre

Regina, Saskatchewan – The Regina Pats Hockey Club is proud to announce its game Friday, January 6, 2017 is Blue Jays Night presented by Bennett Dunlop Ford.

Canada’s oldest junior hockey team will honour Canada’s only Major League Baseball (MLB) team by wearing special edition Pats/Blue Jays jerseys for their matchup against the Calgary Hitmen.  The jerseys went through an approval process with both Major League Baseball and the Toronto Blue Jays to ensure a faithful recreation of the Jays uniform in a hockey setting.

“This is another example of the tremendous support the Toronto Blue Jays have across our great country and we are honoured that the Regina Pats will wear Blue Jays styled jerseys on January 6th,” said Andrew Miller, Executive Vice President, Business Operations, Toronto Blue Jays.  “We also are pleased that the Pats will support Jays Care Foundation through a jersey auction.  Jays Care Foundation will use funds raised through the auction to create opportunities for at-risk children and youth across the country.”

Those attending have the opportunity to take home one of the special edition jerseys through an auction-taking place the night of the game.  Proceeds from the jersey auction support the Jays Care Foundation.  For more information on the Jays Care Foundation, visit the Foundation’s website.

“We are very excited to have the opportunity to bring together the oldest brand in junior hockey with Canada’s only Major League Baseball team, the Toronto Blue Jays,” said Pats President Todd Lumbard.  “This will be a night to remember for our fans who will have the chance to take home these one-of-a-kind jerseys.”

Fans are encouraged to join the Pats and wear their Blue Jays gear to the game as the Brandt Centre goes baseball for the night.
