Vegas Golden Knights Take Jake Leschyshyn in NHL Draft

Regina Pats forward Jake Leschyshyn was drafted in the 2nd round, 62nd overall by the Vegas Golden Knights on Saturday morning.

The Saskatoon product scored 17 goals and had 40 points in 47 games last season. For his WHL Career, the 18-year-old has scored 35 goals and has 59 points in 125 games.

The 18-year-old was originally the sixth overall pick in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft by the Red Deer Rebels. The Pats acquired him in a trade in January of 2015.

Leschyshyn was ranked number 42 in North America by the NHL’s Central Scouting Service ahead of the draft.
