PREVIEW: Pats Wrap Three in Three Weekend in Brandon

The Regina Pats (44-12-7-1) play their third game in three days Sunday in Brandon against the Wheat Kings (29-26-7-3). Puck drop is 4 p.m. at the Westman Place. The Pats hosted the Calgary Hitmen in their last game Saturday, losing their fourth straight, 6-3 the final score. The Wheat Kings have been off since Friday when they beat Calgary 6-1. Today is the sixth of eight meetings between the Pats and Wheat Kings, Regina is 3-1-0-1 in the season series. The game can be heard on 620 CKRM with Bennett Dunlop Ford Pats Hockey beginning at 3:35 p.m.

Lead Up: Pats Finish Home Stand With Loss to Calgary
The Regina Pats dropped a fourth straight game on Saturday night, 6-3 at the hands of the Calgary Hitmen at the Brandt Centre. Calgary led 4-1 after the first, 6-2 after the second and picked up their first win of the year over the Pats. Beck Malenstyn led the Calgary attack with a goal and two assists while Adam Brooks had two goals for Regina. The Pats outshot Calgary 35-34 in the loss, Jordan Hollett made 26 saves in the Regina goal, Kyle Dumba 32 for the Hitmen. The powerplay was oh for two and the penalty kill four for four.

Head to Head
The Pats are 3-1-0-1 against Brandon this season with three wins coming at the Brandt Centre and the two losses in Brandon. The Pats have scored 21 goals to the Wheat Kings 15 in the first five matchups. The Pats have outshot Brandon 206-150 in the five games, the powerplay has gone nine for 25 and the penalty kill 23 for 27. Sam Steel and Adam Brooks lead the Pats with 10 points against the Wheat Kings. Connor Hobbs has seven and Dawson Leedahl six in the season series. Goaltender Tyler Brown is 2-0-0-1 in three starts and holds a 2.27 goals against average and a .922 save percentage. Tyler Coulter leads the Wheat Kings with four goals and two assists against Regina. Ty Lewis has four goals for Brandon as well. Climbing On Up
Pats Captain Adam Brooks climbed another notch in franchise scoring on Saturday night. The Toronto Maple Leafs prospect had two goals to reach 312 points for his WHL career. The two point night, pushed him past Jordan Eberle for 12th all-time in scoring. Brian Varga (1978-81) is next on the list at 11 with 329 career points in a Pats uniform. Brooks also played in his 309th game with the Pats on Saturday night. That puts him in a tie with Brett Leffler (2004-2010) for third most in Pats history.
