REGINA, SK, NOVEMBER 9, 2012 – BMO, the Official Bank of the CHL, brought BMO Ultimate CHL Fan Appreciation Night to the Brandt Centre for Regina Pats Fans. As part of the festivities, BMO held a contest for the Ultimate Regina Pats Fan where Alison Giesinger emerged victorious.
After being selected from the crowd and competing against two other contestants in a round of Pats trivia on the players’ bench, Ms. Giesinger was named the BMO Ultimate Regina Pats Fan, winning a signed Pats team jersey with the BMO Ultimate CHL Fan crest and a $50 pre-paid MasterCard.
As the winner of the BMO Ultimate CHL Fan contest, Ms. Giesinger is now entered to win the grand prize: a trip for two to the MasterCard Memorial Cup next year in Saskatoon.
“Regina Pats fans showed us just how important hockey is to them at the BMO Ultimate Fan Appreciation Night,” said Helen Arnold, Personal Banking Area Manager, Regina, BMO Bank of Montreal. “Congratulations to Alison Giesinger on winning the BMO Ultimate Regina Pats Fan title and thank you to everyone who participated last night.”
Between October 23 and December 12, 2012, BMO Ultimate Fan Appreciation Night will be held in 40 communities across Canada to celebrate the 9.5 million CHL fans. Each event will recognize one BMO Ultimate CHL fan, and one BMO Ultimate Fan in each league in the CHL (Western Hockey League, Ontario Hockey League, Quebec Major Junior Hockey League) will receive the grand prize.
BMO and the Canadian Hockey League
BMO Financial Group and the Canadian Hockey League announced BMO as the Official Bank of the Canadian Hockey League in 2011. The four-year agreement also designates BMO as the Official Bank of each of the CHL’s member hockey leagues: the Ontario Hockey League, the Western Hockey League, and the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
The sponsorship builds on BMO’s partnership with the CHL of more than 10 years and affirms BMO’s exclusivity as a financial services sponsor of the league in the retail banking category. It also engrains a presence with the 48 teams who currently participate in the BMO CHL Affinity MasterCard program, which enables CHL fans to support their favourite teams through branded credit cards.
