2015 Mac’s Midget Tournament

Regina, Saskatchewan – The Regina Pats are represented well at the annual Mac’s Midget AAA Tournament in Calgary, AB this week.  Nine prospects are in action on seven different teams from Saskatchewan, Alberta and Manitoba.

The Regina Pat Canadians look for a return to the final of the tournament where they fell just short a year ago.  Pats prospects Riley Woods (’98) and Lukas Sillinger (’00) hope to bring gold medal back to Regina.

Prospect Gary Haden (’99) of the Foothills CFR Chemical Bisons is one of the players to watch in this year’s tournament.  Haden leads the AMHL in scoring with 41 points (15G, 26A) in just 24 games this season.  The skilled forward led the Bisons to the quarter-finals with 10 points (7G, 3A) in five games.

Another top scorer heading into the tournament is Pats 2014 second round pick Erik Gardiner (’99).  The Prince Albert Mintos forward is third in SMAAAHL scoring with 36 points (10G, 26A) in 26 games.
